We recently got involved in an interior decorating project for an end of tenancy that ended up being a considerable renovation of a property in Worcester. This led to all sorts of trades working hand in glove: carpet cleaners, plumbers and kitchen installations, and a great volume of tea was consumed! Sometimes, there is always a silver lining for those willing to brave adversity.

Do you think that automation will take your job in the next 15 years? From a decorator's point of view, I can't see it happening in anything like that time frame. Our jobs are simply too dexterous for a robot to emulate and the skill too much for them to provide. Still, it is an interesting prospect! 

Vision Solutions, a Worcester based disaster recovery company with cloud based solutions, asked Worcester Decorators for some help in painting the office. Choosing several colour themes from the Farrow and Ball Sample Catalogue to reflect their brand values, Worcester Decorators trialled the Elephant's Breath for them, which was subsequently used to paint the office premises and reception area.

With the news so grim these days, a Worcester Decorator tells his painting friends not to fall in to despair listening to the 24/7 doom-merchants. By taking pride and joy in our work we have found that we can stave off the blues - and that's something the younger generation, who are besieged by ill missives on a daily basis, need especially. So here's to another coat!

It can be intimidating when starting out on a decorating project. As a painter in Worcester my opinion is often sought on what people intend to do - like an unwilling priest listening to a last minute confession, some clients perceive my experience as the final 'green light' for their work. I don't have too much of a problem with this, but I do make it clear that I am not an interior designer. So this is why books like Farrow and Ball's How to Decorate, published in May this year, can be such a useful tool for those looking to decorate their homes.
